Now that the calendar has turned over to May, that means Open Houses have begun once again for the year at the historic Stevenson House in Metamora.
This past weekend, we hosted a workshop for mahjong for beginners.
MAHP President Laure Adams and Mary Ellen Alig taught a small group how to play basic mahjong as we fit in a few games.

The group thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially since there aren’t any mahjong players gathering Metamora that we know of. The closest groups we know of are in Washington and East Peoria.
Our next Mahjong For Beginners event takes place during our open house on Sunday, June 14. Seating is limited to 8, and play begins at 1 p.m. Reservations are required.
